INTRODUCTION

        

         As the developing city, Lampung has many activities that can’t live without hotel. Hotel is a place where people stay for any kind of business, pleasure, vacation, and other activities that they can’t do at home. It is becoming famous place nowadays because we can simply find it in every each city in Indonesia, especially in suburban area for example our Province, Lampung. Therefore, there are many kinds of hotel that stand in the some regions, especially in the central of Lampung, it is Bandar Lampung. We can mention some of them, such as Grand Anugrah, Amalia, Nusantara, Sheraton, Novotel, and Sahid.

         But people, of course, have some criteria to consider which hotel where they will stay for some times. Some people perhaps choose the particular hotel due to the price is lower than the others or other people choose the hotel X because that is so luxurious and comfortable to stay. However, the way they choose hotel is depending on what the purpose of staying there. Moreover, why I interest in comparing between two hotels, in this case Sheraton and Novotel, is because I just want to show them why one of them is better than other one whereas both of them are the greatest hotels in Lampung.

Sheraton is a homely hotel and Novotel is a luxurious hotel. Then which is the better one to stay?

         It is automatically when somebody needs to stay on one the hotels in Lampung, local people will immediately recommend both Sheraton and Novotel as the best choice because they are the most famous hotels in Bandar Lampung. Besides, they are also located on the appropriate place that easy to find. Then, there are some room features which are served by them, such as non-smoking room, wifi inside and outside the room, TV in every room, Air Condition, private balcony, etc. Furthermore, some expert people ever stayed on both of the hotel, such as our president, SBY ever stayed on Novotel for a day when he visited Lampung, otherwise some foreign visitors and almost the committee of House of Regional Representative (DPRD) Lampung ever stayed on Sheraton for any kind of their business.

         There are some different characteristics of Sheraton and Novotel that we can notice. Firstly, Sheraton has fewer guest rooms than Novotel’s has, it is due to Sheraton has only 110 guest rooms, but Novotel has 223 rooms, 3 suites, 163 non smoking rooms. Secondly, Novotel has larger areas than Sheraton because Novotel has 16 floors but Sheraton has only 2 floors instead. Thhour to get Raden Inten II Airport, and near to go to some malls in Bandar Lampung as follows Chandra Teluk, Lotus, Central plaza, Mall Kartini, and other malls, but Novotel is located in a quite far from the central of Bandar Lampung, near from the beach or teluk in Lampung, Pasar Seni Enggal is only 4 km from it, Supermarket Galael is only 4 km from it. The next is Novotel is like another big hotels that serves luxurious rooms, modern facility, and new features inside the room, but Sheraton gives the best with their uniqueness, it has unique and homely room, it has traditional but great building, it also has relax atmosphere to rest our brain. In short, we can find home inside Sheraton without going home.

         Even though Sheraton is smaller than Novotel, but it saves more advantages than Novotel. We can feel the best atmosphere inside it, find the warm condition by the silent balcony and the trees that stand in front of the hotel will also make us feel relax and comfortable to do anything, and the employees of this hotel are also have warm words and friendly attitude.
